Atlatl is an environmental engineering and consulting firm located in Butte, Montana. Atlatl applies engineering, scientific and technological expertise to solve or prevent environmental-related problems in the Pacific Northwest. About Our Name
The Atlatl is a prehistoric tool consisting of a rod to be held at one end. A hook or thong at the other end, was used to hold a spear in place until released. Named from the Aztec word meaning "throwing board," the tool was used as early as 10,000 B.C. and represents engineering innovation at its finest -- the lever offered early users an increased spear velocity and throwing range far exceeding that of a conventional arm throw. We adopted this name because it represents the innovation and performance we strive to provide to all of our clients.”
